Vineyard Magic
Terroir
The Quality of a Wine Starts in the Vineyard
The Mediterranean climate, the insularity and the location of the vines at 100 meters above sea level, on soils with alluvial origins comprised of pebbles and gravel, give our vineyards their distinctive and unique characteristics. The 6 hectares are taken care of in a traditional manner with sustainable growing practices.
Climate
Dry and Hot Summers, Mild Winters
Our vineyards enjoy a Mediterranean climate, with long hot summers and mild winters. The high mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana and Serra de Alfabia contribute to the mild climate by acting as a barrier to icy winds from the north.
Soils
A Challenge
for the Vines
Our wines are planted on the classic wine-growing land of Binissalem: rocky, reddish soils, due to the presence of iron oxide, or white due to the dominance of clay, calcium carbonate and magnesium. The soil is loose and nutrient deficient with lime overlaying clay and occasional coatings of hard lime crusts that enhance water retention.
Varieties
A Pallet of Varietals
Our vineyards are planted with traditional Mallorca varietals such as Manto Negro, Prensal, and Malvasia de Banyalbufar. In addition, we have a pallet of Spanish and international varietals with which to showcase the Mallorcan terroir: Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon, Parellada, Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot and Viognier.
